Script For Voice Over

I can remember the first day i met her, with the address on the newspaper 15th of February. That day we spent together was sublime it will never leave my thoughts. she was the love, the hate of my life i feared the days after that perfect day that she would leave me for that other man, him the man who ruined it. why did he do this it must of been him, it must of. that day was the best day she was beautiful, kind, sweet and best of all she was mine. Even the way she took the smoke, the way she said my name.. my name.

First Day Of Filming New OTS

Re-Making Our OTS (Group Discussion 4)

As we have to re-film everything we as a group decided it was best to re-write our entire story as the previous "Pin-Up Girls" didnt feel like a noir film, i have created a new storyboard for the new film as seen below:

Problem in Production

Our OTS has been accidently been deleted off of the school's server to create space for other students accounts. Our OTS was on one of the accounts that had been deleted, the school's technician is trying to recover our clips but it will take time that's if he can recover them at all. This has affected us greatly as it sets us back as we were so close to finishing, it is now likely we will have to start again.

What We're Currently Doing (Group Discussion 3)

We finished editing the OTS as a whole, to accompany the visuals we completed the sound, Daniel created two sections of music using the a pano to create a menacing tone to our film, he did this by making the music have a very low tone. We do need to re-film the scene me and Daniel are walking towards the shed as last time we left it too long and the lighting became very dark. As i'm responisble for the lighting i will make sure the camera can see the visual and provide extra lighting if needed. Lucy read out the script of the voice over and recorded it onto a device called the "Mrantz" microphone which provides good quality audio. She has currently uploaded it to Imovie and cutting/editing the voice clip.

Genre, Audience & Institution for our OTS

The Genre:

The genre is a neo noir thriller, a neo noir is a movie with the conventions of a noir film but is filmed in present day, it may be sent in the past or pay homage to the typical noir films. We have the theme of crime in our film, this is heavily featured in noir films.

The Audience:

The particular  demographic we are aiming for is a males aged 25-40 as we feel this group will be most interested and enjoy our film the most. We feel as our film has a serious and mature storyline this particular audience are able to concentrate more and understand the characters and their motives, narrative and the style best.

Institution:

The institutions we were thinking of showing our film were:

Streaming Online:

We decided that if we were to stream it would be easy for our audience to access our film anytime they like, they can also access our film and many others for free on thier ipods, ipads and computers.

Picture House Cinema:

Or shown in a picture house cinema which is a network of art house cinemas in the U.K, they are usually small cinema's with smaller screens, more comfortable and better quality seating with a classical look to it. Picture house cinemas also show more varied, arty and alternative films which the larger cinemas would not choose to show. Our ots would be shown here as it does not have the quality's to be shown in a known cinema such as vue or odeon on a big screen because our ots does not include close ups and does not show expressions and feelings on the actors face which is very common in a cinema screening and also the lighting is extremely dark and dull which is not common in a recently made film aimed for the cinema franchise.

Use of Non-Real Time (Group Discussion 2)

During our second discussion as a group we decided to use the effect of "non- real time".

When we all met we listed films that helped inspire us with our opening title sequence, but only one stood out, the hit film "Memento" which starred Guy Pierce. The film revolves around the main character who is suffering from amnesia after his wife was killed during a robbery in their own home. He then sets out to find her killer and bring him to justice with only his polaroid camera to help him indentify situations he has just occured, he also tattoos important messages onto his body.
What inspired us was the use of time in the movie, the events aren't told in chrnological order and this fractures the narrative and allows the audience to think about the movie in more detail.

The kind of Non-real time we will use is we will show the events as they happened at the end of the OTS and speed it up so the whole sequence is reversed.
